Maxine Orange | WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

Join us Friday, February 1, 2019, from 5PM to 8PM for the opening reception for WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? at 25 Central Square, presenting works by Maxine Orange. The solo exhibition will feature works from the artist’s abstract and bridal portrait series at Anne Hunter Galleries in Seaside and Rosemary Beach through March 31. The opening reception for the artist will be hosted by Amavida Coffee and  Anne Hunter Galleries as part of the Seaside First Friday Art Walk on February 1 from 5PM to 8PM, with small bites by Grayton Beach Catering and mellow acoustical sounds by music artist, Christian Mayes.

The WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?” exhibition responds to the question of the desire for formalities at weddings and the life-changing experience of getting married. The artist’s abstract bridal portraits honor the energy of a special moment, offering a blessing of honesty and open-mindedness. “The portraits are an everyday reminder to value and celebrate the imperfections in a partner you choose to adventure life with,” explains Orange. Finding the perfection in the imperfections is something has been a theme for the artist for a long time. “I enjoy how my process of painting is like a meditation, sometimes you just have to let go. it’s amazing how good life can be if you are grateful for what you have, and just kind of stop caring about what others think, and like painting just let go. Perhaps that is something that comes with age, and I do my best to appreciate the balance in my life with a glass that is full,” she says.

About the Artist

A given name like MAXINE ORANGE is something to live up to. Growing up in Montgomery, Alabama, I developed my love for making and creating with the aid of two very creative grandmothers. With a lot of creative ideas and a passion for painting, I feel grateful to have experienced a multifaceted career as a painter and graphic designer on three corners of this wonderful country. I enjoy the balance and adventure of the life I’ve crafted at my home in Destin, Florida. I am also passionate about helping other artists to find their path to creative success; and, believe that the exploration of creativity is something that everyone must experience.

Maxine’s one of a kind style is apparent no matter the subject. Her Abstract Bridal Portraits are regularly commissioned for special & unique wedding  and anniversary gifts. These figurative works have led to more fashion and bridal inspired works.
